She was a strong, religious woman who loved her family and her community deeply. Growing up in the Second Ward, Delia attended Aoy, Bowie Junior High and Bowie High School. She worked as a dietician at the historic Hotel Dieu Hospital and Southwestern General Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband Luis Alvarado Sr., son Fred Kelsey, sister Susanna Billman, parents Federico Martinez and Maria Luisa Salazar.
She is survived by her children; Dwight Kelsey, Steven Kelsey, Henry Kelsey, Luis Alvarado Jr., and Erica Alvarado Ramirez. Granddaughters; Guadalupe Kelsey, Natalya Ramirez and Lizette Alvarado. Siblings; Fred Martinez, Juan Martinez, Martha Corral and Rosa Martinez.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home East with the Vigil at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
