Don was a lifelong El Paso native. He met the love of his life while attending Texas Western College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. After graduating college Don served in the US Army both active duty and reserves. He had a long career as an engineer with El Paso Natural Gas. Don had a passion for the game of golf and enjoyed the relaxation and cool mountain air of Ruidoso, NM.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty; son Mike and wife Brenda Bierd; son Don and wife Pam Bierd; daughter Patti and husband Jack Coffey; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grand children.
