Obituary of Donna Lee Collier
Donna L. Collier at the age of 70 passed away on May 11, 2022, at home after a courageous 8 year battle with breast cancer. She was born June 14, 1951, to Wallace J Camp and Helen Mary Tereshko in El paso Texas at Beaumont Army Medical Center. After graduating from Burges High School in 1969 Donna went on to study Psychology at University of Texas at El Paso. She is survived by her daughters Rachel Anne Smith and Roxanne Danae Ramirez and two granddaughters. Donna took in a black cat by the name of Radar who stayed by her side until the end. When Donna had Rachel she decided to dedicate her life to being an extraordinary and wonderful mother. Donna excelled at propping up both her daughters and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting Rachel through the ups and downs of life or pushing Roxanne through nursing school, Donna was determined to always be a beacon of light though some of life’s darkest storms. Donna was passionate about all forms of music and was a founding member of the West Texas Yucca-lele’s Ukulele Ensemble. She was exceptionally proud of her days in days in the marching band at both Burges High School and UTEP. Donna always had a funny story to share about those days. She considered herself a foodie and was always ready to try new recipes and experiment with unusual ingredients. Donna was a member of the Horizon Christian Fellowship and spent many hours in prayer and pouring over scripture. She was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and eagerly anticipated her reunion with HIM in Paradise. Donna was always bringing warmth and kindness to her home and she will be greatly missed. In lieu of a funeral service the family will be hosting a private celebration of life at their home.
