Dorothy Carolyn Quinn

Dorothy was born July 23, 1934, and was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents James Orland and Florence Agnes Quinn. Surviving cousins include Patrick Healy, Barbara Jean Anderson (Lee), Louella Leven (Henry), Carol Hughes (John), Leslie Nordin, and Boots Healy.

Dorothy attended Loretto Academy, Austin High School, and was a graduate of Texas Western College. She spent most of her subsequent teaching career at Austin High School before retiring from the El Paso Independent School District.

Dorothy was known for her avid love of animals, caring for many pets during her lifetime. Because of her particular fondness for cats, Dorothy devoted much of her time and effort working with the feral cat population in her area.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dorothy’s kind neighbors, who demonstrated much care and concern for her over the years.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday June 15, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday June 16, 2011 at 9:30 am, followed by the Rite of Committal at Evergreen Alameda Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Leven, John Hughes, Michael Anderson, Justin Anderson, Jon LeMone, and Martin Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Anderson, Rick Armendariz, and Cerjio Martinez Sr.
