Dori Whitney was born on May 30, 1946. She passed away peacefully on September 11, 2014. Dori fought a losing battle with cancer. She left behind a multitude of friends and very few relatives. She is survived by, Bill Dominik, husband of 19 years. Before moving to El Paso in 1997, she was editor of Brewers Digest Magazine for almost 40 years, continuing as part owner from El Paso until she retired. She loved her animals and her garden which she spent many hours tending to. She was also very involved in Optimist activities with the Sun Up Optimist Club of Canutillo, loved working on children related projects, Denim and Pink Cancer survivors luncheons, and the Mayors 100 teen program. There will be a celebration of her life at the Whitney Farms at 831 Anthony at 9th Street on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 4:00 pm.
