Earline Barber

Earline Barber was born May 28, 1916 in Greenville, Texas to Arthur and Pearl Waters. She passed to be with our Heavenly Father on May 19, 2013. Earline was preceded in death by her husband Dr. W.G. Barber, Professor Emeritus, University of Texas El Paso. She is survived by her son, Dr. R. Jerry Barber, her daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Barber, grandchildren Kasey Villareal, Steve Barber and Stacy Jay Barber. Earline has seven great- grandchildren. Earline was a long time member of the El Paso West Side Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a very charismatic person with many friends. She loved doing for others, was very social and loved playing bridge. She was an accomplished artist who sold numerous paintings. In the mid 1990’s she established the W.G. Barber Scholarship to assist graduates from Socorro ISD to attend University of Texas El Paso. Since its beginning, scholarships have been awarded every year.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery. Earline will be laid to rest next to her husband. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912. www.MartinFuneralHomeWest.com
