I met Eddie back in 2017 and I’m grateful that I had the chance to have a wonderful friend like him. His smile could light up any room. He was always sweet, kind and loving to me. Eddie was always there for me and always checking up on me. He is and always will be my favorite dance partner. Eddie and I would text each other almost every weekend to go out and dance together. I remember one night I was teaching him a dancing move where he could flip me around his body and it was a complete success even though it almost wasn’t. He has always been a quick learner! I remember for 2 New Years in a row we spend them together and we screamed Happy New Years!  I can go on forever about our shared memories. I miss you Eddie. Save me a dance up there, I’ll be seeing you soon my friend. This isn’t a goodbye. I love you forever. Fly high my sweet angel. 

Where do I begin? I met Velazquez when I first joined the reserves after being active.  He heard I was a paratrooper so he constantly asked me for advice. I didn’t know him well at first but with the way he approached me and the knowledge he wanted I could instantly tell he wanted to be all he could be within the army. He was a special soldier in the best of ways. He took initiative helped everyone as much as he could even if he didn’t work with them or for them directly. He empowered soldiers and was the type to uplift everyone around him while he too was climbing the ladder of success. Outside of the Army he would always get a group of us to go out with him. And now that I think about it it’s AMAZING how he brought all these different MOS’ together to go out dancing or shooting. Edd you were one of the most humbling people I ever met. You looked out for us so many times with out us even having to ask for help. I wish you were still here.. I promise I will always honor you and keep your memory alive!! My condolences to everyone who has lost Edd especially his family 💐

My heart breaks at the thought of you no longer being here. You were the most selfless person I’d ever met. I remember when you JCP, Alondra, Kimmy , Chris, etc would come over to our house and we’d have movie nights, and swim in the pool. I remember every time there was a quince, you never forgot to force my sister and me to dance bachata with you. One thing I wish I’d told you was how grateful I was when you defended me against that guy who was causing me drama in school- you were the only one who defended me. You never owed anyone anything and yet you’d always go out of your way to make sure the ones you cared for were okay. I will miss you. Rest In Peace, Quince Partner forever.

Man I don’t even know we’re to start. I guess I’ll start by thanking your whole family for raising you the way they did. Before I met you, I hadn’t met anyone outside my family that looked out for me the way you did, there’s just so many times you made my day. Like the time you gave me your flag for football because I didn’t have one for the game, or even when we linked up and played Fort when you gave me the best weapons because you said I needed them since I panicked when people attacked us haha. You actually made me get out of my comfort zone and let me tell you, only a few people have done that. Thank you for all the workout, life, and school tips you gave me. I didn’t know how attached I could get to a random person in just one year till I met you. I won’t forget where it all started, JRTC. A year went by so fast and honestly thank you for everything man. I know we’ll see each other in the future and I can’t wait to keep telling you all my crazy stories when we see each other  again. 
Thanks for looking out for me like a big brother, thanks for the great memories, and just thank you for being yourself.

I had the pleasure of having Edd in my class when he was a senior in high school. He was such a joy to have around. He was polite and respectful. Edd was always smiling and boy did he have a beautiful smile. I also got to see him play football several times. I'm so glad I got to meet such an extraordinary young man. My condolences to his family as they deal with this horrible loss.

Spc Velazguez was a good friend. I see my self in him. Someone who always puts others first. It’s not a trait the military gave him. He was a humble and friendly person. He was the first one to say hi to me when I game to this unit. Edd would comment on my drifting videos asking for me to teach him how to drift 😂 he was so intrigued on how it worked and wanted a ride along. Sadly we never got that chance. I miss him a lot he would build conversations with me when I had no one to talk too. He was so excited about motorcycles as well. He knew I owned a bunch in my years and it was just someone you can connect with even with out having similar interests. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. To the Velazguez family, we are all with you no matter what. As a unit we stand together for our soldiers and their families. 

Edd was the older brother I didn’t know I needed. He was my first real bestfriend and was there for me during my own times of trouble and was always offering me his help. He made me want to be a harder worker and an overall better person. He taught me the value of being a good leader, hard worker and better friend for everyone. I hope one day I can amount to be half the person he was. 
I offer my sincere apologies and condolences to his family and friends. I appreciate everyone sharing their stories and photos. It warms my heart seeing the love and support he had.

Back in middle school we had a small moment of real friendship we may have drifted apart but you had a great impact I remember I told you you were a brother to me and I meant it you were one of the first few people to be nice to me and my friend the first friend that invited me to his house. I know it short thought but you were my brother you taught me so much in such little time I’ll never forget you and one day I hope to be what you were to me  to someone else who needs it thank you so much edd I love you and miss you so much!

When I first came to ST high school, I didn't know english very well, I met him from the basketball team,  he became a good friend of mine and my roommates, he was one of the few that showed us what a friendship is, even more when you live far from your family. 
You could easily tell he was a good and respectful guy just by speaking to him, and I say this because during those three years I spend in ST, he never made fun of me when I tried to speak english or ant osher time like some others friends did (which was funny) I admit, neither he made fun of anyone I knew ever. I still cherish a few but good moments with him since he would hang out more with a younger roommate I had, Fer Bustamante, I will always remember Edd as one of those good friends I had in that place. 
Las time I spoke to him was a few months ago saying I would try to go back soon and hang out. I know I'll see you on the other side brother, you had a good and humble heart my friend.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of being Edds coach in several aspects. I was his PE and football coach at Santa Teresa middle. I was also his basketball coach at Santa Teresa high.  Edd was a very very hard working individual. He was full of compassion and was the type of person that would always be there for you. You will be truly missed and all the memories I have of you will be forever cherished. Thank you for having an impact on my life.

I had the privilege of being Edd's High School Football Coach and I have so many memories of Edd in high school that are frozen in time in my head. Edd was so polite and respectful. A great student who put his everything into everything. He gave all he had. I remember a game against Cathedral in which Edd had to start both ways. He played running back and outside linebacker. He learned his plays so fast because he was so intelligent. He made the most of his opportunity and excelled. But that's who he was, I asked if he can step in and play offense and he said, whatever you need coach.

Since he graduated, I ran into him often. At Western Playland and he would come to the games. Every single time it was a joy to see him because he never changed. He was so polite and kind. 

We all miss you Edd.
