

Edwin Lent, 78, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. He was born to the late Maurice and Francis Lent September 28, 1934 in Toronto, Canada. Ed moved to El Paso in 1954 and received a B.A. in Journalism from Texas Western College in 1959. His honor include; Alpha Chi-Vice-President; BSU “Westerner” Editor; El Burro Fiction- Editor; Journalism Silver Key; KVOF Promotion Head; Men of Mines; Orange Key-Reporter; Prospector-News Editor; Sardonyx- Reporter; Who’s Who and Top Ten Graduate. He worked as a copywriter for 25 Years with Debruyn-Retting Advertising. Ed touched the lives of many people through his poems (published two books of poetry), his passionate interest in Chess, his connection with Bill W., and infectious smile, charming wits, compassion, and love. Ed is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kay; his son Meishel, daughter-in-law Cecilia and expected grandchild of Framingham, Massachusetts; his son David and daughter-in-law Jennifer of El Paso; and his grandchildren Andrew, Jacey, Alexander and Samuel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa, El Paso, Texas 79902. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S.
