Elida spent her childhood in El Paso, Texas. She was the second youngest of 8 and was treasured as one of the babies of the family. At 16, she made the brave decision to move to Orem, Utah. It is there that she developed a stronger bond with Heavenly Father as a ,ember of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She was married and had her first child at 19 with two more following shortly after. Elida was a proud homemaker and spent her time sewing together outfits for her girls, volunteering at the schools, fixing up her home, taking her family camping and fishing, and going to church on the weekends. Later in life, she worked as a Student Advocate at Mountain View High School. She was assigned to look after the Hispanic student population. She helped many of them through the struggles of their personal lives and school and worked diligently to ensure they would be able to graduate. It was her most fulfilling job and she loved every minute of working there. As she approached her 40's, Elida reconnected with an old family friend at the suggestion of her mother. Jose Carlos came into her life and made many weekend trips to see her and to get know her family. She followed him back to her childhood home, El Paso , where she spent the last 10 years of her life doting on her grandkids, puppies, and husband.
Elida had many more passions in life. Above everything else, she loved music. She loved taking long road trips and grooving along to her favorite songs. She had a beautiful voice and honored many of her friends and family with her impromptu karaoke performances. Elida loved entertaining people at her house. She loved being surrounded by her friends and family and enjoyed every visit they payed. Elida was a talented cook. She had many signature dishes that her loved ones constantly begged her to prepare. She loved to dance, watch movies with her son and grandson, shop, decorate her house , watch true crime shows, travel, sing, but mostly she loved spending time with her family and being the best wife/mom/grandmother/sister/daughter/aunt/friend that she could be.
She will forever be missed.
Her services will be held on Sunday October 25 and will be officiated by Bishop Eric Williams
