

Elizabeth was born in New York, New York. After graduating from The Cathedral High School in New York City, she married the love of her life, Stephen Wiehe. As a military wife for over 30 years, Elizabeth traveled extensively and finally settled in El Paso, Texas. An active member of St. Raphael Parish she was a part of the Women’s Auxiliary, the Altar Guild, Lector, and Eucharist Minister. After receiving her BA and Master in Education from UTEP, she assumed the role of pre-kinder teacher in 1976 and from that small beginning Mrs. Wiehe built St. Raphael Catholic School, one of the finest Catholic Schools in El Paso, becoming principal in 1990.
Mrs. Wiehe had three loves in her life; her God, her family and her school. She dedicated the past 36 years to the school, staff and the students she loved.
Elizabeth is pre-deceased by her husband CSM Stephen M. Wiehe, sister Noreen Hart and brother Thomas Hannan. She is survived by daughters Eileen M. Regan, Mary Wiehe-Frazier, son-in-law Chris Regan; grandsons Stephen J. Regan, Paul E. Regan, and Christopher B. Frazier, her sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Edward Farrell.
Mrs. Wiehe’s visitation will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 31st, with the rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Raphael Church, 2301 Zanzibar. The funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 Thursday, September 1st with Bishop of El Paso, Armando X. Ochoa and Msgr. Francis J. Smith concelebrating the funeral Mass. Internment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Chris Regan, Stephen J. Regan, Paul E. Regan, Christopher Frazier, David Pynes and Joseph Pynes.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Mary Frances Cavallo, Mary Haggblom, Theresa Houlihan, Sr. Elizabeth Swartz SSND, Catherine Pynes, Sharon Hamarlund, Marge Townsley, Ann Ferguson, and Peggy Cataldi.
