surrounded by her loving family. Her positive outlook on life and sense of humor
comforted those around her until her final moments. Frances was born in the small
town of Mankin, Texas and grew up in nearby Trinidad where she graduated high
school before electricity was brought to the home she lived in. She met Dean,
her husband of 60 years, during WWII at Love Field in Dallas. After working at the
Pentagon in Washington DC, she devoted her life to her family, and valued her time
spent with them and their children to follow. She was a dedicated Bible scholar and
a member of Mt Franklin Baptist Church (now Westside Community Church) for almost
60 years. She was blessed with world travel, and a love for knowledge that led her to
participate in the Country Club Garden Club, and various book clubs for most of her life.
Her first priority was always to share the good news of salvation with those she met, often
just through the way in which she lived. Frances is preceded in death by her husband
Dean Vincent Rittmann, Sr., sons Philip Robert, Vincent Dean, Dean Vincent, Jr., and
Randal Scott. She is survived by her children Dan Robert Rittmann, Peter Alan Rittmann,
and Terri Rittmann Rutter (Douglas), daughter in law Ellen Debrow Rittmann as well as
10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 18 at from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home West,
