Eloy Armando Duran (Mando) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Mando was born on January 25, 1944, in El Paso, Texas. He is a graduate of Ysleta High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, and attended The University of Texas at El
Paso, and Texas A& M University. He lived a joyful and happy life where he proudly served the El Paso Fire Department for 32 years, before retiring with the rank of Captain. He was a man full of life, love, laughter, patience, and compassion. He had a wonderful outlook on life, reflected in his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. His many attributes will live on through the numerous individuals he encountered. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Carmen Duran. Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful wife of 57 years, Sara Meraz Duran, and his children; Eloy Armando Duran, Jr., Michael Duran (Gloria), Ernest Joseph Duran (Tiffany), and Debra Priscilla Duran. He is also survived by his two loving sisters; Ida Hinojosa and Gloria Borrego (Mike Norman). His 8 grandchildren; Christopher, Cassandra, Mikey, Christian, Dominic, Alyssa, Dylan, and Tyler. He has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly. We love you daddy so much!
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, with Vigil Service at 6 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Mass will be Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be; Mickey Flores, Eloy Morales, Felipe Morales, Christopher Duran, Gilbert Federico, and Javier Caro.
