Ernest Steven Capoldi passed away, suddenly, on January 18, 2021. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Yvonne, his father, Ernie Capoldi, Sr., his sisters, Debbie Ortega, Karen Elkins, Cheryl Huston, and their respective families. As a small business owner, he served his community. As a son, he gave his parents pride and comfort. As a brother, in a household of girls, he was frequently the source of great ire, but he was also a tremendous source of humor and companionship. As a husband, he was a wonderful partner, protector, caregiver, and friend. Ernie had four loves, his wife, his family, his pets, and sports. He grew up playing basketball and football. One summer, Ernie attended a youth basketball camp at U.T. El Paso and was so good, he earned the nickname, "round mound rebound." In his adulthood, he really enjoyed watching -- and rewatching -- the Dallas Cowboys and U.T. Longhorns football games. It was part of his routine to watch the fames live; then he would watch the recordings in order to appreciate and analyze each play, yet again. Ernie was funny, sincere, and kind; his loss touches many lives and will be felt for a long time to come. He joins many loved ones who predeceased him; these include his mom, Dorothy Capoldi, his Aunt, Marie MacCaughern, and his brother-in-law, James Huston. They work to train dogs and pair them with the blind and visually impaired.
