In the early morning of Thursday, January 24, before the of break dawn, Ernest Eugene McCoy went to his heavenly home, where Jesus welcomed him. He was greeted by his first wife, Rosario Porras, His Father Ernest, Mother Carrie, Sister Mary and Brother Ralph.
Ernest was born June 10, 1934, in Homer, IL. Ernest proudly served his country in the Air Force and is a Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was last stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX and upon his discharge, he decided to remain here and make it his home.
Ernest was an extraordinary salesman. He worked for Farmer Brother Coffee, Cisco Company, Valley Foods and Montfort Meat Company. During his career Ernest traveled to Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico to sell his products. His customers were loyal to him, always searching him out regardless of the products he sold.
One of Ernest greatest pleasures was his love of music, especially Country and Western. He and his wife Barbara would go dancing every weekend. Ernest enjoyed listening to his large collection of long playing record albums on quiet Sunday afternoons. Ernest was a loyal husband and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Jo, Son Ernest McCoy and wife, Dinorah, their children, Diana and Amanda, Great Grandchildren Julez Mykala and Emmalyn Rose, Son Michael Armstrong and wife Katrina and children Michaela, Mauro and Maribelle, Son Robert McCoy and children Valarie, Brandon and Brianna, Son Jerry Joe Armstrong and wife Jennifer and daughter Jannelle, Son Charles McCoy, His sister, Judy McCoy Lindauer and husband Mark, Close friend Willie Teran and a host of family and friends.
