Ernestina "Tina" Quintanar

August 8, 1932October 2, 2020

Ernestina H. Quintanar Born August 8, 1932 was called away to our Lord and Savior on October 2, 2020 at the age of 88 to join her husband Leon F. Quintanar (Honey) in eternal peace. She was born in Parral, Chihuahua and grew up in Juarez, Chihuahua, with Lupe and Martin Rodriguez family of eight, when her mom passed away. She resided in El Paso, TX. She was active in her community at San Judas Tadeo Catholic Church, where she served as a member of the Guadalupanas, the Catechumen, and choir. She loved working at the church’s bazaars making gorditas. Cooking and baking for her family brought her great joy. Her freshly cooked flour and corn tortillas were the best you had ever tasted. Her enchiladas, beans, and rice were a family favorite. She loved to crochet, embroider, and sew; she embroidered some amazing doilies and crocheted some amazing blankets. Ernestina was very talented and had many self-taught skills. She loved caring for her numerous plants, fruit trees, but especially her rose bushes. Praying the rosary daily gave her comfort and joy. Ernestina would take the rosary to her Husband Leon and bless him before he would go to sleep. Leon always waited for Ernestina to receive his blessing before falling asleep. Ernestina is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio Hernandez and Lucia Mendoza. She is survived by her children Irma Q. Huffman, Felipe (Margaret) Quintanar, Olga (Pedro) Carrillo, Rodolfo Quintanar, Bernardino (Teresa) Quintanar; her grandchildren Joshua M. Huffman, James E. (Anna) Huffman, Jason M. Huffman, Charles W. (Cindy) Davis III, Andrea (Orlando) Esparza, Joseph Felipe (Hilda) Quintanar, Christopher D. Carrillo, Peter J. Carrillo, Abel M.
