Ernesto Munguía, Jr., passed away on October 16, 2021. Ernesto was born on June 12, 1940 in El Paso, Texas. He is predeceased by his parents Lorenza and Ernesto Munguía, Sr. Ernesto, or Ernie, as he was known as, was a 1959 graduate of El Paso High School where he played football. He moved to California, then to Alaska. He worked as a grocer warehouse supervisor at Carr-Gottstein Foods Co. until retirement.
He married his wife in 1976. He has three children and five grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and loved spending time with them. We will miss his great stories.
He is survived by his wife Cynde Munguía, his sister Gloria Krolow, and his children Lisa Munguía, Jason Munguía (wife Gwen Munguia) and Miguel Munguía (wife Marian Zapata-Rossa), two granddaughters Alyssa Munguía and Justice Jackson, three grandsons Jason “Jake” Munguía, Miguel “Ernie” Munguía, Jr., Ander Munguía and many other family members and friends.
A visitation for Ernie will be held Thursday, November 4, 5p-9p. Services and funeral will be Friday, November 5 at 11am with a burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 1pm.
