Estela V. Quintana, 86, on the evening of July 1, 2014, passed away peacefully in her own home. She was visited and comforted by family members. Estela was preceded by her husband of 58 years, Emmanuel Quintana, her parents Demetrio and Jesusita Vasquez, two brothers Pole and Armando Vasquez and two sisters, Paula Marquez and Jesusita (Chuy) Vasquez. Estela lived a very humble life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. Her salsita and tortillas will never be forgotten. She loved crocheting, music (singing and dancing), gardening, and watching novelas. She also loved fig newtons, tacos, and carrot cake. She leaves behind two daughters Rosie Cervantes, Amada Quintana; four sons, Manuel, Alfredo Sr., Carlos Sr., Arturo Quintana, 24 grandchildren , 30 great-grandchildren; brother Demetrio Vasquez Jr., sisters: Margarita and Ida Vasquez, Espy Dominguez and Toni Williams, and many loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her nurse Bernice Amador, her doctors who took great care of her; Dr. Pinaroc, Dr. Munoz, Dr. Tan, Dr. Demick, and CIMA Hospice of El Paso, TX. A special thank you to Lulu Rodriquez, and Hema Gonzalez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
