In early years when Eve wasn't gardening, preparing another gourmet dinner or running rum or a parrot over the Juarez bridge, she was away with Howell carving a new ski slope or diving a distant ocean.
Between trips, stylish Eve, involved her daughters, Alison and Kimberly, in arts and crafts or yard work, and taught Cleo the terrier to spring from the diving board into the pool on command while the girls jumped to the water from the roof. Drive a Meal, PTA and El Dedon Verde Garden Club occupied Eve until she'd return home to prepare dinner. Rarely did the family sit down for the evening meal until Howell and Eve double gammoned or ginned one another over Cuba Libres faithfully served by the girls.
In later years when COPD kept her closer to home, a well trained Eve handed out peanuts or grapes to the mockingbird and curved bill between emails to family and friends while FOX News aired the gospel in the background.
When the woodpecker on the wall clock gave the signal at 4pm, corks were opened, and the regulars staked their $5 for an enduring session of Mexican Train. The morning after, winners and losers were reported to her daughters, with Eve professing Isha was not allowed to sit on her right at future games.
Eve is survived by her eldest daughter Alison, son-in-law Steve, their twins Matthew and Wesley, and second daughter Kimberly. A son, Lance Alan McCullough, who passed at birth is buried at Fort Bliss.
Eve's happiest moments until her passing were spent with Jody and Diane Lawrence, Isha Rogers, Mary Kay McCullough, Tom and Barbara Dent, Bob Jacobs, Mary and Greer Craig, Barbara Colton and John and Rhonda Pate.
In Eve's final hours, her daughters will forever remember the great care provided by Dr Hajj, the nurses at Las Palmas and everyone at Global Hospice.
Remembrances of Kimberly.
Arrangements under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, El Paso, TX.
