Evangelina Chavez

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Berta Maldonado, Belen Campos, and Maria Luisa Gonzalez. She is survived by her sister, Margarita Ahumada, and her brother, Edmundo D. Medrano. She is also survived by her daughters, Juliet Chavez, Catherine (Carlos) Gonzalez, Lisa (Tom) Luebke, and Christina Chavez as well as five grandchildren, Andrew (Thea) Deyo, Elizabeth Deyo, Anna Luebke, Kayla Luebke, and Carolynn Gonzalez and one great-granddaughter, Sylvia Deyo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Evangelina was a lifelong resident of El Paso. She attended Burleson Elementary School and completed high school at St. Joseph’s Academy for Girls. She was employed by William Beaumont General Hospital until her marriage in 1951. She was a gentle soul who loved her home and garden and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, vigil to begin at 7:00 pm at Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 9:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Dr. El Paso Texas.
