Fernando Gutierrez Jr.

With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we announce that Fernando Gutierrez Jr. passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on June 26, 2026, at the age of 76. While his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into his eternal home and rests in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.

Fernando was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Esther Gutierrez, whose love and partnership were the foundation of their family. He was a proud and loving father to Fernando Gutierrez III, Michael A. Gutierrez, and Elizabeth Guerra, and a cherished grandfather to Christopher Gutierrez, Ava Diaz, Julia Diaz, and Matthew Gutierrez. His family was his greatest blessing, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Fernando was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Juanita Gutierrez; his sister, Rosa Maria Grado; and his brother, Alberto Gutierrez.

He is survived by his loving siblings: brothers Carlos, Jose Luis, Alfonso, and Armando Gutierrez, and sisters Juanita Hidalgo and Martha Mendoza.

Fernando proudly served his country in the United States Army and Texas Army National Guard, a chapter of his life that remained a source of great pride throughout the years. He carried that same sense of honor, loyalty, and dedication into every aspect of his life.

Known for his warm heart and welcoming spirit, Fernando befriended everyone who crossed his path. He had a gift for making others feel like family, and those who knew him will remember his kindness, generosity, laughter, and genuine concern for others.

Fernando leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and compassion. His strength, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends will forever be remembered. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends their sincere gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. They find peace in God's promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing that Fernando has been called home to be with the Lord.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fernando’s life during a visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Dr. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. that evening.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral East, followed by a committal service with military honors at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, where Fernando will be laid to rest in recognition of his faithful and honorable service to our country.
