Fernando Juan Hijar Jr.

Fernando J. Hijar Jr. 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. He was born May 23, 1942 in El Paso, Texas. He is the son of the late Fernando and Maria Luisa Hijar. He is survived by his wife Josefina Hijar; son: Fernando Hijar (Barbara Licht); daughters: JoAnn Hijar and Yvette Davis (Ricky Davis); grandchildren: Adrian and Christopher Hijar, Brandon Mathews, and Ryan and Jacob Davis; brother: Richard Hijar; sisters: Yolanda Zepeda, Margarita Hijar, Isela Sterling, and Norma Muro and lots of loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Hijar was a longhaul driver for Safeway and JB Weber receiving numerous safe driving awards. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud member of the VVA and the VFW. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing and casino activities and was an avid Oakland Raider fan. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty to friends and the love for his family and... not to forget the love for his dog Pelusa.
