He was a proud lifelong resident of San Elizario. He also served on the San Elizario ISD school board for 30 years. He will be greatly missed by many because of his dedication to the students and staff of S.E.I.S.D.
Fernando is survived by his loving children Gilbert Alexander Madrid, Derek Madrid, and April Rae Madrid; his sister Sandy Madrid; his nephew Joseph Sosa, his niece Yvonne Sosa, and his great nephews Liam and Luca Sosa.
He is preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Jennie Madrid.
A visitation for Fernando will be held Monday, July 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a vigil service at 7:00 pm at San Elizario Catholic Church, 1556 San Elizario Rd, San Elizario, TX 79849. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 1556 San Elizario Rd, San Elizario, TX 79849. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938.
