Francisco Manuel Cordero

Francisco M. Cordero, 91, died peacefully at home, August 5, 2011. Preceded in death by wife, Ernestina P. Cordero; parents Mauricio and Virginia Cordero; siblings Mauricio Jr., Alicia Chavez, Juanita Serna, and grand-daughter, Patricia Loya.

WWII veteran, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, he retired as a civil engineer for Robert E. McKee after 43 years of service. He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral for over 40 years and supervised its renovation in the 1980’s. Survived by children; Ernestina (Fred) Nelan, Ana Luisa Loya, Beatriz (Dennis) Cole, Francisco J. (Nancy) Cordero, and his beloved grand-daughter, Marcy Criswell, who was raised by her Lito and Mamanina; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren & numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Monday August 8, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday August 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church 400 W Sunset Rd, El Paso.
