My condolences to the Gaytan Family.

I had the pleasure and honor to work with and know Gene for several years. He was an amazing man and passionate for the industry.
He always was helping me and guiding me even with the little things.

I loved his sense of humor and the pleasant way he greeted me each and every time we saw each other.

I'll never forget you and your stories... and oh course Listening to the Beatles.

We will miss you. Rest well Friend. It was a Honor and Privilege.

Several years ago at Harding Orr and McDaniel Geno took me under his wing and taught me sympathy, responsibility, professionalism, and everything he possibly could. From making me feel better after I scuffed a limo parking. To just be a funny story teller. Rest in Peace geno lots of people and families you helped put to rest will be with you enjoying afterlife. Much love to the family from a friend who was lucky enough to work and learn from Gene.

Monday night I had a dream. It was 6:30 in the morning I am arriving to work and I am greeted by you “hey bro coffee is ready”. A large pot of black coffee to start the day Genes special. We set up flowers. Turn on the lights. Make sure all cars are clean, chapel is clean and everything is perfect before any one shows up. At 8 a.m., we make our way to pick up the grieving family and for the next four hours your only concern is that, the family is well taken care off. Service is over. Back to the office need to prep for the next service. Set up flowers. Clean chapel and make sure cars are ready for the next day. No time to eat but another pot of coffee is ready. The day is ending and we are ready to do it all over again the following day, but in the dream, you told me, “I’m tired”. You walk away smiling and I feel that you really mean it. Rest in Peace. Friend. We will all miss you, but treasure all the memories.
We will continue to listen to The Beatles in your honor.

My sincere condolences to the Gaytan Family.

I met Gene when I started working at HO&McDaniel in 1985 we were on one of the shifts. He taught me the ways of the McDaniels and he new that funeral home from top to bottom. He truly had Blue Blood as he always would say. After I left I always made it a point to stop by on my home visits to say hello and ask how Molly was doing. Gene was one of a kind but definitely a true friend and a hard worker and of course we would always bicker at one another like brothers.

I am truly blessed that Gene was part of
my life.

I extend my sympathy to the Gaytan family.
