He was the oldest son of Luise Decker and George W. Anton Sr. and is survived by his brother Walter and sister Katherin.
George leaves his wife of 61 years, Inge, children; Henry, Patrick, George Jr and Rosemary, Grandchildren; Daniel, Jason, Nathan, Justin and Matthew and Great Grandson: Ryker.
George served in the US. Army from April 1951 to December 1979 and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major.
Graveside Service with military and DAV Honors will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
