GEORGE WARREN BUTTERWORTH SR., age 69, surrounded by family, passed on March 13, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hughes Sr. and Mary Byrd, his sister, Molly, brother, Hughes Jr., brother-in-law Kenneth, and brother-in-law Bob. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nadine, sister Elizabeth (Don), brother John (Kay), sister-in-law Sharon, sister-in-law Anita (Bill), brother-in-law Ray (Judy), four children, Lori (Peter), Denise, George Warren Jr. (Kelli), Raymond Hughes, and beloved grandchildren, Dalton, Valori and George Warren III, plus many nieces and nephews. George received his BBA from Texas Western College in 1963 and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston in 1966. George treasured practicing law and was an intelligent, caring attorney who always fought hard for his clients and for what was right. His generosity was selfless and knew no bounds. To know him was to love him. To many, George was their Guardian Angel or Hero. He loved his family most and dedicated his life to being a doting husband, loving father and grandfather. George will be remembered for his courage and incredibly positive attitude as he fought Multiple Sclerosis for the last 26 years. Inurnment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 27 at 1:30. Funeral will be held at Church of St. Clement at 3 PM with reception immediately following.
