

George K. Lynch, 89, passed away Thursday morning, Nov 14, 2013 with his wife and son by his side. He was a long-time resident of El Paso having lived in Artesia, N.M. for many years prior to moving to El Paso where he founded Tri State Dist. Co. He operated Tri State Dist. For 30 years until he sold his company to pursue his retirement with his wife Billie S. Lynch and to indulge his life-long love of horses and his enjoyment of golf.
Mr. Lynch was a past president and a proud member of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Posse for many years. He was also a member of several polo clubs including the Paso Del Norte Polo Club of E.P., Las Anitas Polo of Juarez, Mexico, San Patricio N.M. Polo and Santa Fe Polo.
He was born in Graham, Texas on Nov. 9, 1924, graduating from Graham High School in 1942. He attended S.W. Texas State College in San Marcos, Texas until the untimely death of his father forced him to return to their home in Artesia to care for his mother and sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents John E. Lynch, Sr. and Flossie Lynch, his brothers Ed, Raymond and Bill, and sisters Evelyn and Barbara. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Billie Storey Lynch, his son Rocklyn R. Lynch and his niece Lynnda H. Wasiak and family and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at 10:00am at Martin Funeral Home West. A luncheon reception will follow at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Posse Clubhouse on McNutt Rd, Sunland Park, New Mexico. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, N.M. at a later date.
