George J. Mitchler

April 17, 1929 – October 16, 2013

George Joseph Mitchler passed away of cancer surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84 years. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Alyse, 3 sons George (Karen), Gary and Timothy, 3 daughters Judy (Rich) Topp, Theresa Demaree, and Lisa (Gene) Brown, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Three brothers Timothy (Doreen), Thomas, Larry (Debbie), 2 sisters Mary Ann (Jerry) Maas, Carol (Ed) Steenis and sister in-law Louise Krchnak of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He served in the Army Air Corps, worked at White Sands Missile Range in the Atmospheric Science Laboratories 26 years and at New Mexico State University Physical Laboratories for 8 years retiring in 1992 after which enjoyed traveling with wife, children and grandchildren. Life was good! Visitation will be held Sunday October 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at FDA Kaster Maxon & Futrell. Funeral Mass will be said Monday October 21, 2013 at 8 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Committal Service to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
