At age 102 yrs, George S. Yee, received the Congressional Gold Medal for his military service in WW2. He was born in the province of Guandong, China on Dec 6, 1918. In 1931 at 12 yrs of age his father brought him to El Paso, TX. After a very rich and full life, owning a grocery store, 2 restaurants and retired from the U.S. Postal Service with a family of 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, he peacefully passed away Dec 3, 2021. He praises God for his longevity.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 yrs, Kim Yee. George is survived by his children Mae Quon, Joseph Yee (Amy), Susan Chan (David), Wayne Yee (Christina) and Lydia Woo. He is also survived by grandchildren Karen Chan, Brian Chan (Hanh), Neal Quon (Joyce), Erin Quon-Ribucan (Rodney), Derek Yee, Caleb Yee (Angel) and Thomas Yee (Victoria). Also 3 great grandsons Qirin Quon, Harrison Chan and Lincoln Chan.
