OBITUARY

George W. & Concepcion P. Shilling

George William Shilling, age 77, passed away at home on June 17, 2020. George was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 30, 1943 to George Edward and Thelma Ruth Shilling. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, honorably discharged, a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his brother Leland Shilling and his three children Kevin, Darren, and Sonya Shilling.

Concepcion Paulina Shilling, age 67, passed away at home on June 21, 2020. She was born in Ciudad Juarez on October 10, 1952 to Santiago and Trinidad Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her brothers Victor and Jesus, her sisters Carmen and Guadalupe, and her beloved husband George. She is survived by her brothers Benjamin and David, her sister Virginia, and her daughter Sonya Shilling.

George and Connie had been married 46 years. Through those years it was rare to see one without the other. They impacted the lives of those around them through their honesty, kindness, and support.

Where George was quiet, Connie was talkative. Where George would offer silent support, Connie would give heartfelt advice. Each gave the other something needed... they balanced each other. They loved their daughter. Their love for their family and friends will be with us always.

Dearest Sonja...so wish I could give you a hug during this difficult time. I know your parents had to be very proud of you and that gave them great joy. That is a beautiful gift. I hope the wonderful memories they leave with you bring you great comfort. You are in our hearts and prayers........Val

Connie and George, the memories I have with you two are too long to list. Because of you two I am who I am. You Both helped build the foundation to who I am now. You all taught me so much about life, love, and family. I was so very blessed to have spent so much time with you two. The talking (Connie), the food (George), the beer. 😊
I will miss you both so much.

There are no words... Connie was my mentor, mom, my everything when I needed her. Always gave me words of encouragement and thought of others before thinking of herself. She was a loving, caring mother, wife, aunt, friend that I will miss sooo much.

Uncle George was my uncle who always made me laugh with his quirky sayings and remarks. The only one who called me Rose, the only one who made a recipe book just for me. I will miss him dearly.

Uncle George and Aunt Connie watched my sons grow up from the day they were born and spoke to them on a weekly basis. We will always cherish the memories we made together. You will always be loved and missed.

Connie and George were the most kind, caring, generous, and compassionate people I’ve known. They would go above and beyond for anyone that needed it and being accepted into their family will remain one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever had. They will be missed. All my love,
Em
