Gilbert Natividad Flores Jr.
March 13, 1940 – December 25, 2018
GILBERT NATIVIDAD FLORES JR entered into the hands of his Lord and Savior on Christmas morning, December 25, 2018 at the age of 78. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Born in El Paso, Texas on March 13, 1940 to Gilberto and Maria Luisa Flores, Gilbert was truly an angel that walked among the Earth.
As a young boy, he learned the boot business from his father. He then went on to own Foskett Leather Co. and Bronco Boot Co. Later, he’d work as a truant officer at EPISD for 20 years. After retirement, he served as a Sexton for St. Francis on the Hill Episcopal church.
All those who knew Gilbert, understood the deep love he had for all of his family and friends. “Have I told you lately that I love you?” was his favorite question he asked his loved ones. Knowing Gilbert meant receiving unconditional love, invaluable advice, kind words, and the best of times.
He is survived by his wife Betty Ann Flores along with his children Jeanette Flores-Wesstrom (Brad Wesstrom), Anne Flores (Susie Mettlen), Gilbert Lee Flores (Amanda Flores), and Charmaine Markle. And his grandchildren- Gilbert Martin, Cailyn, Kelly, Hailey, Karah, Brooke, Aubrie, Alexa, and Emmalee.
His celebration of life will be held on January 11th at 2:30 pm at St. Francis on the Hill Episcopal church on Los Robles Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis on the Hill Episcopal church. We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Alfonso Chavez and Dr. Juan Herrada.
