Gilberto Tapia

GILBERTO TAPIA, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas and was a hardworking man who worked in construction, carpentry and mechanics. Mr. Tapia was a praying man and kept his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his parents; Margarita R. and Carlos Diaz. Sons; Ruben, Enrique, Juan Carlos and George Tapia. Mr. Tapia is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Julia Tapia. Son; Gilbert Tapia Jr. (Esther). Daughters; Margarita Martinez, Lupe Diaz(Jesus), Julieta Tapia (Norman), Rosa Ana Tapia and Sofia Del Olmo (Larry). Grandchildren; Robert Jr., Edward, Christy, Monica, Cindy, Erika, Juliet Lewis, Crystal, David, Fernando, Reuben, Jacqueline, Julia, Victoria, Juliana, Brenda, Julian, Johnny, and 30 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at Hillcrest Funeral Home West from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Evergreen East Cemetery. Funeral procession will be leaving Hillcrest Funeral Home West at 8:30 a.m. Right of Committal will be at Evergreen East Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME WEST.
