Gloria Ann Carpenter died peacefully at home on Friday November 29th, 2019 at the age of 85. The youngest of three children born to John and Barbara Bibona, Gloria was born Wednesday July 25th, 1934 in Bronx County, NY.
Graduating from Hunter College in Manhattan, Gloria worked for Catholic Charities Family Services in Jamaica, Queens, NY as a young woman. Upon moving to El Paso, TX in 1980, she worked as a social worker for El Paso psychiatrist William W. Follett and later taught Human Behavior at UTEP until her retirement.
Gloria was married to Thomas A. Garry from 1968 until his death in 1983; and to Kenneth E. Carpenter from 1991 until his death in 2006.
She is survived by her son Emmet Garry; brother Daniel Bibona; Billie Bibona; Patrick Carpenter; Tonya Lynn Carpenter; Lettie Lee Carpenter; Melinda Bowen; Lovina Carpenter; Eli Molleur; Sally Robinson; Mike Robinson; Ann Taylor; Mike Taylor; and numerous cousins, nieces, & nephews and their children & grandchildren.
Services will be at St. Raphael Parish, 2301 Zanzibar, El Paso at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
