Gloria P. Gutierrez

Gloria Parra Gutierrez, age 90, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Victoria P Castillo and Benjamin Castillo (stepfather) and husband Antonio T. Gutierrez. She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Ramirez (Ramon C. Jr.), Margaret Gutierrez, Rafael Gutierrez (Hilda); her grandchildren, Stephanie Fernandez (Carlos), Alejandro C. Ramirez (Lauren Garcia), Sandra Gutierrez (Abrahm Castaños), Michelle Gutierrez (Michael Johnson); as well as her grandchildren, Omar, Karen, and Amara Fernandez. She is also survived by many extended family and friends who cherish and honor her memory, including her honorary daughters, Rosa Maria Garcia Edwards, and Maria del Carmen Martel.

Gloria was known for her work and commitment to her community and church. She worked for Project Bravo and Texas A&M in the Expanded Nutrition Program (ENP) as a Consumer Aide and Program Assistant educating families of limited resources on basic nutrition, budgeting, and food preparation skills. After retiring, she founded the ENP Retiree Group that continues to meet monthly. She was a long-time member of El Divino Salvador Presbyterian Church where she served as a Ruling Elder, Clerk of Session, and President of the Women’s Circle.

She was a positive force who will be remembered past her death. She will be extremely missed by all!

Services: Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on July 28, 2022, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79907. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 29, 2022, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907.
