Gloria Hernandez Vasquez

With heavy hearts we share the sad news of the passing of Gloria Hernandez Vasquez, beloved wife of Felix Vasquez Jr.; mother to Robert Vasquez, Cynthia Harrington, Felix Vasquez III (Nancy), and Christine Vasquez (Alex). Beloved grandmother to Erika-Marie (Fabian), Isaac Marquez; Samantha (Richardo) Arechiga, Alexis and Steven Almeida; Matthew, Nicholas (Vanesa) Marin, and Angelica Vasquez. Great Grandmother to Jesi, Damian and Romina Martinez, Gideon and Eliana Marin and Logan Riley, Richie and Aaron Arechiga, Kaitlin, Tristan and Lily Marquez. Gloria, Mom, Ama was a 1959 graduate of Bowie H.S. and ROTC Cadet and Drum Majorette and 1985 graduate of EPCC. She worked at a variety of businesses to help support her family, most notably as a substitute teacher's aid in YISD schools and then a cashier at Wal-Mart stores from which she retired. She enjoyed working on crosswords, watching true crime dramas on television and supporting her Fathers and Brothers MaryKnoll society. She lived her life as she pleased and passed away peacefully as she had hoped. Services will be as follows: Rosary and Viewing at Hillcrest Funeral Home Nov. 2 from 4-8pm. As a long time member, funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on S. Rosedale Nov. 3 at 10:30am with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery on S. Zaragoza.

A visitation for Gloria will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 7712 Rosedale St, El Paso, Texas 79915. A graveside service will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
