I have a feeling that somewhere out there you are going to be able to read this. So I admit it.. I forgot your birthday "again!!".... I can only imagine what you would say to me.. probably something about beating me with a wet noodle. I miss you so much. And I know it's ridiculous but I  still look in the grocery isle for Tomato preserves for you. I think of you often, I pray for you too. I know that you are praying for me and looking out for me as well. I love you.

Hard to believe it was almost 55 years ago that I looked you up at the Durkee truck dock here in Chicago. Wanting to know all about Australia. You came into our lives as a good and loving friend, our daughters always claimed you were there big brother. As time went on you came and went into our lives for the next 55 years, we always saw you as the brother/friend. You will be missed.

It's been a year and I miss you more than ever. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

It has been almost a year and I still think of Greg and miss him very much.

Almost a year has passed and I still think of Greg and miss him.

I find it very very moving that Greg leaves a very clear trail showing his meaningful progress through life. Gives me hope that whoever we are, and however pale we might think our own trail is, someone somewhere will continue to give a bugger when it's stopped.

I spent 4 years with Gregg as our unofficial coach at UTEP.  He always went
out of his way to help us out, even if I was from New Jersey!  He always had a great disposition, that we enjoyed being with.  From what I remember he was a very good Javelin thrower in Aust.  His coaching was one of the big reasons that
Peter Farmer and Emmit Barry did as well
as they did.  Over all I'd have to say
that he left this world a better place,
and we will all miss him.  On my last visit to El Paso I found him in a bad situation with his health, and he never
complained about it.  All I can say is that I was lucky to know Greg Glynn.

Greg was my late son's best friend for many years, and then became a wonderful friend to me. After Jeff died, Greg could empathize with me in a way no one else could because he, also, had lost his only child. 
He gave me valuable information and guidance about so many things - cell phones, plumbing, electricity, exercises, muscles and more. He also gave me the feeling that I could make a difference in his life by doing some errands for him and by looking for food items that he liked. I felt honored that Greg believed that he could rely on a woman in her 80's to do these things.
I will miss our discussions about sports, books, old TV shows, music and politics, but, most of all, I will miss his courage, his sense of humor and his kindness.
Greg Glynn was a true gentleman in every way. His passing came too soon.

Greg took me for the best breakfast in Texas, at Lucy's, in the 1990s. A close, long-term mutual friend had us meet during a journey through El Paso, and we clicked. He showed me what life is like in that corner of the world, and his keen wit, wicked humour and wide-ranging interests remain very clear in my mind. Vale, Greg. The world is richer for your journey through it.

You were 14, I was 16, when we joined the same tennis team which began a lifelong friendship.  You tried to improve my overhead, we exchanged books, you wrote poetry, you abandoned fear when you rode as passenger on my Vespa, you taught me to drive a car - your car, and we embarked on our own separate adventures leaving Australia the same year.  We were never out of touch or out of mind.  
So long, my Huckleberry friend - but never goodbye.

I also want to say that my prayers are for Greg's family..  I pray they will find comfort and peace.  
Life is so brief.  Treasure every moment.

I met Greg when he was at OCU.  We became very close and even when he moved to El Paso, we stayed in touch. I made trips to El Paso and he came to see me in Oklahoma .  His last letter to me was to tell me he was returning home to Australia.  Our paths took different directions, but he remained in my heart.  I always thought of him and wondered how he was.  When he returned to America he couldn't find me and I thought he was in Australia.   In 2008 I found him in El Paso and we kept in touch ever since.  It is very difficult to believe he is gone. I'm thinking of what to say and how to explain how I feel about Greg. A song has come to my mind and I want to write the lyrics here.
"Without you there'd be no angels, no rainbows when rain fell, no smile when I'm blue.  Without you, I'd be so selfish. I'd have no one to tell wishes or secrets to. There'd be no tomorrows I could walk to.  There'd be only sorrow and walls to talk to.  Without you my heart would be sleeping, but not in your keeping, where it ought to be.   Without you."
Greg always encouraged me and I hope he knew how much I appreciated him.
He will be greatly missed, but he remains in my heart.

To Uncle Greg I wish I had got to know you better.  Its feels like a real loss that I didn't.  Talking to mum I know you had many people that cared and loved you. May you R.I.P

I enjoyed Greg's unwavering friendship for more than 30 years.  I left El Paso in 1980, but we stayed in touch almost daily, thereafter.  I credit him for improving my mind, helping me to think in different ways, challenging me to do a little better with all things, kindling my imagination, and teaching me the meaning and value of being a true friend.  I will miss him every day for the rest of my time on earth.

My brother Greg left Australia almost 50 years ago, and I think I've always missed having a big brother, never more than now.
