

Guadalupe Castaneda Adams (a.k.a. "Chita" or "Lupe") passed away on Thursday October 22, 2015, at age 80. She was born in, and remained a life-long resident of, El Paso, Texas. She grew up in the lower valley and was a graduate of Ysleta High School. On April 14, 1963, she married the love of her life, Marshall Wren Adams III, who preceded her in death in 2007. Together with Marshall, she raised three very devoted daughters; Jennifer Louise Adams of El Paso, Texas, Rebecca Holloway Kessock of Fort Collins, Colorado and Elizabeth Annette Adams of Corpus Christi, Texas who will miss her dearly. She worked as a data entry operator for many years and was retired from the banking industry. During her life she was an accomplished seamstress, creating matching dresses for her three girls, making costumes for many city, school and dance companies. She was an accomplished cook who loved nothing more than feeding her immediate and extended family, as well as friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed reading, listening to her favorite tenor vocalists, traveling with her family, working jigsaw puzzles and collecting a huge variety of cookbooks and cooking accessories. She had a passion for helping anyone in need. During her lifetime she was an active member of the following Catholic Churches; Little Flower, St. Matthews, Queen of Peace and St. Jude. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her Mother Guadalupe Corona Castaneda, her Father Roman Castaneda, an infant daughter Rachel Ann, two sisters Irene Giner and Teresa Castaneda and two brothers Joe and Jesus Castaneda. In addition to her three doting daughters, she is survived by two sisters Aurora Ortega, Ramona Espino and brother Alfredo Castaneda. She leaves a host of beloved and extra-special neighbors, friends, colleagues, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother- and sister-in-laws as well as her darling surrogate granddaughters Robin and Rachel Olivarez.
Services have been entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Drive, El Paso, TX 79912. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2015 from 5-9 PM with a Rosary held at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Immediately following the mass, she will be laid to her eternal rest at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
