Guadalupe Alvarado Mazziotta, “Lupe”, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2022. Lupe was 97 years Old. She was a beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend.

Lupe is survived by her three sons, Vincent (Janine), John, Steven (Leticia) and one daughter, Rosellen; her grandchildren Casey, (Nichole), Jason, Kathy, Roderick, Carlo, Kristen (Alex), Angelo and Joseph; her Great-Grandchildren Mary-Jane and Clover-Jade and her many nieces and nephews.

Lupe was born in El Paso, TX to Francisco and Vicenta (Rendon) Alvarado and was one of eight siblings raised in Santa Rita, New Mexico. She is survived by her sister Emma (Chino). She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; her sisters Socorro (Ernie), and Josephine (Fierro), Eva (Lico), Dolores (Rudy), Hazel (Joseph/Marty) and her brother Michael.

Lupe was a graduate of Bowie High School who went on to serve her country honorably in the United States Air Force (WAC). She loved children and diligently advocated for them through her work at the El Paso Child Guidance Center. In her passion and generosity she learned sign language and worked with the deaf community at the El Paso Deaf Center. In addition, Lupe would continue her tireless service to the El Pasoans through her work at the AARP where she continued to volunteer after retirement.

Lupe deeply loved and cared for her family and friends. She loved reading, going dancing, art, music, speaking in Italian and Sign Language, painting, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, lectures on all subjects, visiting with family and friends, attending church and traveled quite frequently to countless and diverse venues throughout and beyond the greater El Paso area.

Visitation for Mrs. Mazziotta will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Vigil and Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn.
