

Guadalupe C. Meza, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Guadalupe was a long-time cafeteria worker; her last employment was with the Sisters of Loretto having worked in the convent’s kitchen for 14 years. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents, husband Juan, brothers Jesus, Esteban, Eduviges, Gonzalo and Antonio; her sisters, Soledad, Celedonia, Maria, Reynalda, Berta, Anastacia, Abrahana, Antonia and Jacinta. She was also preceded in death by her beloved cousins whom she considered her siblings, Lucio and Ignacia, as well as numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, her son-in-law Jose Alfredo, and her granddaughter Elsa whom she missed dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Maria del Refugio, her granddaughters Sarah and Irais, nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends whom she loved dearly and considered family as well. The family wishes to thank Berta Gandara who cared for Guadalupe patiently and lovingly for the last four years as well as the staff at Gentiva Hospice for making Guadalupe’s last days at home comfortable. Guadalupe was a kind, generous, hard-working and loving person who always helped and gave of herself selflessly. Grandma, you will be missed, loved and admired forever. Visitation: 5:00-9:00pm on Monday, February 1 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Vigil at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass: 10:00am on Tuesday, February 2 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church.
