Harold Martin, “Jack” or “Captain”, Kirk born in Nocona Tx, Nov. 11, 1924, died in El Paso, TX on 3/18/19 at age 94. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph and, John William Kirk, sister Connie Kirk and husband Edwin Carroll and his parents, John Martin and Mary Margaret Kirk, his beloved dog, PJ, his friends Pete Langford and Leroy Pittman and others. He is survived by the children of John and Ardyce: Marsha Labodda and husband Eduardo Alazraqui, El Paso; Dan and Priscilla Kirk, Scottsdale, Az.; John Warren and Marylyn Kirk, Albuquerque, N. M.; Janis Kirk Williams, Glendale, Az; and Dr. William and Tamra Kirk, Zumbro Falls, MN; grand-nephews Douglas Labodda and wife Brenda Stady, Roundrock, TX; James T. Kirk, Aurora, Co.; David Williams, Glendale, Az; grand-nieces Dayna Kirk Morrison and husband Benny Morrison, Portland, Ore.; Jennifer Williams Hughes and husband Richard, Cedar Park, TX.; step- grand-nephews Danie Schairer and children, Albuquerque, N. M. and Abby Schairer and wife Gena, Seattle, Wash.; Edward and Robyn Alazraqui and children, Piedmont, CA. and Carlos and Laura Mala Alazraqui and children, Burbank, Ca.
He is also survived by 4 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews and cousins, Shelly and David McNew, Nocona, TX; Juanita Pollard, Bowie, TX., Dayma Gillian, Nocona, TX, Pinkie Hoover, Dallas, TX., Roy B. Hodges and Dolores, Whitedeer, TX. and Sue Corlew, Albuquerque, NM.
Jack was in charge of store and window displays at several department stores among which were Colfax and, J.C. Penney outlets in Amarillo, TX and Dodge City, KS. After retirement he returned to Nocona, TX where he was active in the First Methodist Church, the Nocona Carpenter Shop where he delivered Meals on Wheels and medications for the local pharmacy. He loved driving his Buick to visit relatives in Phoenix, Albuquerque and El Paso. He will be missed by his friends Rusty and Carolyn Fenoglio, Mary Jo Smith of Nocona and the friends he made at Rio Norte Senior Living and at the Nazareth Living Care Center, El Paso. He was a gentle soul who flirted with his female caretakers at Nazareth nursing home by giving them endearing names such as “Deary,” Sweety Pie” and “Sugar Plum”. The family thanks Nazareth Living Care Center for their care and concern.
Memorial service will be held at the First Methodist Church, Nocona, TX at 1:00 PM, April 27, 2019.
