First I wanna say I’m sorry for your loss. Adame was someone that I could never forget. He was a great friend and even better person. I wish I could make it to his service but with work it makes it hard. I just wanted you to know the impact Hector left on me. We would always talk about god and share TikTok’s about Jerusalem and places Jesus walked and how we would love to go there one day. I remember one morning he called me just to tell me about a scripture that he felt he needed to share with me. Since that day I knew he was one of the good ones. Adame will always be my brother. Not because of the Army, but because of the impact he had on me. Again. I’m sorry for your loss and you and your family are in my prayers every night. I hope your family finds peace through these tough times. Stay strong.

Hector would occasionally post this on his social media. My cousins and I would swipe up with our Earthly troubles. He is still praying for us, only now he is beside Jesus.

 I will always love and miss him, for all of who he was. Thank you cousin for taking care of us all.

Hector, thank you for being an amazing cousin to Vanessa and Valerie and creating so many memories with them that they have so much to remember you by. I’m grateful to God that we all got to spend so many happy times together while you were here. Christmas , Thanksgiving, New Years  & going to see you in in Killeen then you showing us that cool Star Wars restaurant. I know I’m never getting rid of my work desk that you helped Uncle Roger put together for me.  We will miss you so much but for now we will hold on to all those special memories until we can all be together again someday.

Man, this still doesn’t seem real. You were one of the nicest dudes that I’ve ever got the pleasure of knowing. Your energy and positive impact that you had when you were around people was unmatched. Some things in life are indescribable, and this is one of them. Life is too short, but you, out of all people, deserved a long one. You were and always will be one of the boys, no matter how much time has passed. It was an honor serving with you. It was an honor being on the same Bradley crew with you. Maybe it’s cliche to refer to this quote from a marvel movie but it really does help. Whenever going through any type of grief, I always think about “but what is grief if not love persevering.” For me, it changes perspective while grieving. Im so sad because there was so much love. And it must have been a beautiful love to feel so sad. And how blessed to have been able to experience such a beautiful love. 

I’ll always remember Hector as my own family. My own cousin. I’ll always be grateful for my wonderful best friend and sister Alexandra Vania, who brought me into her beautiful family. Her beautiful family that became my family. My family who I love so dearly and hold so close to my heart.

Hector, I’ll remember you making us all laugh and hanging out on holidays, graduations, and weddings. Those family get togethers are wonderful memories from my childhood and Im so happy you were there. The ones following this won’t be the same and I wish we didn’t have to do them without you but I know you’ll be remembered and celebrated at each one. I’ll miss you and I love you.

This memory will always stand out to me. Dora told me that Hector wanted to come and play his violin for my mom. First thing that came to my mind was wow what a nice gesture from a young man to want to do. So they came to my home and he saranated for her my grandson Daniel ,myself and my doggy Cocoa as you can see we all were looking at him and enjoying him play. It was beautiful. He was an amazing person. I know he is in Heaven with God our father. Thank you for caring and praying for my son Julio .

This boy made my babies feel so welcome; his beautiful, playful and witty personality captivated many. This camping trip was filled with soo much joy and my kids were hurt when they heard about you leaving this world. They said they connected with all their cousins that weekend, but Hector was instrumental in making them feel part of one big family. We were blessed to have you in this world mijo. Your legacy lives on and you left an excellent example of how to love unconditionally. Love you kid.!

Hector, my best friend. You will be missed so much.  I talked to you 2 weeks ago. You were so excited about getting your degree done and being home after being in the army. You called me while I was at work and I am so glad that I was able to answer. We were talking and you asked me if you should go get fitted for your tux again because you thought maybe it would fit a little tight by the time of my wedding. You told me how excited you were to come down to El Paso and how 'lit' my wedding was going to be. Nathan and I loved you, dude. We were so excited to have you and your momma be there. Thank you for always being a stand up guy and being there for me throughout the years. Rest in peace, Hector. 

Aunt Dora had come to welcome Hector after his deployment. I received this wonderful picture from my mom. Shortly after I thought he may want to rest and relax but I received a text saying they took him to Whataburger for his first meal back. Too funny, he was so down to earth and relatable. We will miss you.

When Aunt Dora, Hector and Christian came to town you knew the party had arrived. I will always remember two littles boys running around in my parent’s backyard with Maura and just simply being carefree and having fun. 

As kids we always think about if we are doing enough. Are we studying enough, working enough, and even praying enough. Are we making our parents proud? Without a doubt you made your family enormously proud, you were a bright spark who was so kind, loving, and brave.

Words can not express the sadness I'm feeling for my friend, Dora. I met Hector when he was a little boy. He was always very quiet but was always the protector of his mom and his little brother. He will be missed but alway's remembered as a kind and loving person.❤

My whole childhood he was there. He was literally the older brother I never had and was the coolest kid to look up to. His jokes always had everyone around him laughing and smiling. I will always remember playing outside, going to the movies, and the baseball games and Hector was there putting smiles on peoples faces always. Until we meet again, please watch over us. I will never ever forget about you. 

Hector was so hilarious, talented, & a wonderful friend. He was so goofy & constantly made us laugh in orchestra. The Americas High School Orchestra family will always remember him.

Hector, what memories we had! You were one of my closest cousins, I consider you one of my brothers. Both you and Christian always looked out for me. I was looking through our messages the other day, and you always asked how we had all been doing despite your busy schedule. You always made sure to check on family. Hector, Dora, and Chris may God give you strength and comfort.  Hector is going to be greatly missed.  He was  very intelligent, talented  and funny. He had a big heart that he share with everyone. I had the honor of serving with Hector as his Platoon Leader during our 9 month deployment to Camp Hovey, South Korea. 

Within the first few weeks of Hector coming to the platoon, it was clear that he was bright, motivated and, more importantly, held tremendous integrity. When the time came to designate someone to be our Troop Drone operator, our command group knew he was the man for the job. Despite only holding the rank of Private at the time, he welcomed it with enthusiasm and attacked his duties with vigor. 

While in Korea, Hector served honorably. His positive attitude and moral uprightness led to him to be regarded as a beacon for other soldiers. Many times I heard of Hector defusing bad situations or looking out for his friends. I was proud he was on my team. 

Additionally I was fortunate enough to develop a closer relationship with Hector through our shared faith. Both of us were Catholic during our time abroad and both of us attended Mass as frequently as we could. Father Ybarra, our priest, once commented how Hector was the only soldier in a group of officers attending mass in the chapel. I think that image speaks for itself. 

It saddens greatly me to hear that the world lost such a great individual. However it is comforting seeing all the friends and family that can attest to his impact on their lives. Thank you for your service Hector and thank you for the time we shared together. FYFM.

Hector and Brandon served together but it was much more than just Army coworkers they were brothers they shared everything, had many laughs, cried on each other’s shoulders, Hector was always there for us he made us laugh when he would be in the car with Brandon and say hey momma how are you? Just brought a smile to my face cause I think of Hector & Beabrun as my sons. May he Rest In Peace and May his mom know that she raised an amazing young man and he was loved by many. We stand beside you Dora and we love you and are always here for you. 

Sharing memories…  Hector’s latest accomplishment in his short life. Hector served in The United States Army 6th Squadron , 9th United States Cavalry “Sabers.”  Hector completed active duty on March 2022 with several recognitions. He was a Cavalry Scout and also worked with drones and Lead driver for the Bradley tank in his platoon. . One of his greatest accomplishments was that he earned his prestigious Stetson Cavalry Scout Hat and his SPURS that he took a lot of pride in. After army he was ready to finish his last year  to complete his BioChemistry degree. He had plans in flying to El Paso to be a groomsman in one of his best friends wedding this coming Thursday. We will always be SO PROUD OF YOU SON…AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENTS and still so many you had planned that we just talked about a few days before your passing. You will be greatly missed we will forever carry you in our hearts and beautiful memories Every day we talked, I would tell him..Love you with all my heart 💚 son… and he’d always reply… “LOVE YOU TOO MA’MA.” I can still hear your voice. We told each other that everyday and in the morning the day he passed when discussing the itinerary for his flight this week.

Sharing memories… Hector attended Texas Tech University majoring in BioChemistry for 3 years. Was in the process of completing his degree this next year. Needed I more year to complete his bachelors degree and was so excited. One of his FIRST LOVES WAS JESUS- was a dedicated member of  DYRT(Raider Catholic org., the Discipleship youth Retreat Team) which he loved being an active part of.Aside from all his difficult college demands he was determined to serve God. In this picture, Hector earned his Red Raider RING. He wore that with pride. One of the proudest moments in his short life…”GUNS UP.” 

Sharing beautiful memories….Hector was a Black Belt in Korean Martial Arts where he excelled in every way. You never failed to impress us son. Whatever you set your mind to, you’d always become the best that you could…we will carry in our hearts the hard work you put into it..the countless practices, sparring days, and competitions and of course recognitions.

"2000 characters MAX" was enough to express even a fraction of what Hector resembled in our family.  This memory was a bit longer than expected, but that only verifies how I couldnt display how much we were blessed with while you were here physically. Though Im sad Ill never get to sit down again and annoy you with my questions or even introduce to my son, I always have a quick laugh rereading parts of this letter. May your spirit continue on forever. Love you Hector.

Sharing memories… Hector was a self taught guitarist 🎸. His ear for learning all genres of music was amazing. His Christmas list as a child usually consisted of a variety of equipment to enhance his creativity and also concert tickets for us to attend the Transiberian Orchestra. Now you can play for the angles son… we will carry the memories in our hearts from all your beautiful performances 🎻🎼🎸 ❤️

Hector’s first love was MUSIC. He was a Master Violinist at America’s High School, member of the El Paso Youth Orchestra, San Antonio Youth Orchestra, El Paso Rock Orchestra. Performed in tours in California and Florida with his most recognized “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Also had the privilege of performing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Sharing beautiful memories… The famous “Tito.” Hector was a member of FFA at O’Connor high school in San Antonio,TX. Now this was an ADVENTURE that Hector, Chris and I shared. It was a family project that included bathing, feeding, hrs of cleaning his cage, CHASING him, shaving him (grooming), and super early morning competitions only to mention a few of the many bonding moments we endured with Tito. Oh my word, now this was a chapter in our lives we would never forget, will always remain imprinted in our hearts. Hector sure loved his Tito. 

I’ll always remember When you came over to celebrate Carlos’ birthday & the guys came in to eat while the girls (my sisters & I)  were talking inside & while the guys went outside you stayed & talked with us. You kept making us laugh & laugh. We didn’t realize how much time had passed by until Chris comes in & goes “Hector, where the hell have you been? It’s been an hour” & you go “talking, the conversations more interesting here” You definitely had a way of keeping conversations going & keeping them interesting. I hope you’re making everyone laugh up there, Hector. We love you.

We retreated RA 56 together. He was so funny and charismatic, I had to get to know him. During a skit we all had to do, him and I played the important role of water. Since then anytime we saw each other we were Agua. Even after graduation and h joining the army we kept in touch. It was scarse but it was always genuine. He was a wonderful person who cared wholeheartedly. He deserved the world and now he's somewhere where he will receive that and then some. Look over us Hector. I'll miss you Agua. 

While visiting San Antonio, I remember his room. Seeing and talking about his books, Gameboy games collection, his music, and a turtle. I don't know why I remember a pet turtle, and his dogs, Comet (?). 

This one time I accidentally erased ALL OF HIS PROGRESS on the GameBoy Pokémon game. I didn't know how to read.... well, now I hope now in heaven he can forgive me for that, because I know how "upset" he was at me for a long time, hahaha.

I remember Hector was always an early bird. When we would visit him and the family in the ever-so  humid San Antonio, we would stay up late laughing trying not to wake up our parents, playing games and watching movies. Next EARLY morning there Hector was, sitting in front of the tv. Like c'mon man, I'm trying to sleep here, but ultimately woke up just to have more time together during the short visit. 

What to say, other than thank you for 26 years. What to remember, other than the hundreds of memories where Hector would make us all laugh. With his jokes and stories, with his voice impersonations and silly faces. His memory is one that will always bring me comfort, a smile, and sad glimmer in my eyes.

Anyone who knew Hector, knew joy. He was so funny, and always knew how to cheer people up. In our last message exchange he said, “I want you to know that I am here for you. I’ve got my friends’ backs no matter what and no one is as loyal as me. You need to talk, I’m here. You need to vent, I’m HERE.” I think his own words embody who he was in his life. 

This is a video at a Raider Catholic organization, the Discipleship Youth Retreat Team (DYRT), meeting. We were playing a game called “The Best”, and he was challenged with doing “The Best Grito”.  He was always cracking jokes and making everyone smile. Rest In Peace, friend.
