Hector Javier Aguilera, 77 years old of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully at home with his family on December 14th, 2022. He fought for many years and finally lost his battle to cancer. Hector was preceded in death by his parents Elena and David Aguilera and his son Klefa Aguilera. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Aguilera, his children Kandi Aguilera, Anthony ”A.K.” Aguilera, Sabrina Aguilera, and Adreen Baylee Aguilera. His two grandchildren Nikoli Aguilera Rodarte, Novali Aguilera Rodarte and Savannah Aguilera. His siblings Josefina Luna, Efren Aguilera, David Aguilera, and Myrna Aguilera Delgado. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, and 26 great-great nieces and nephews.
Hector was born in Juarez, Chihuahua. He moved to Southern California with his family. He remained in Southern California, was drafted and proudly served in the United States Navy from October 19th, 1965-October 18th, 1967, where he received an honorable discharge. He then was transferred to the Navy Reserve. After being discharged from the Navy, he remained in Southern California where he worked as a cook at Love’s Wood Pit Barbecue. Later in life he and his family (wife and children) moved to El Paso, Texas. Hector retired from the Federal Government where he worked in the Department of Defense at Fort Bliss until he retired in 2002.
Hector was known as “Flaco,” “Tito,” and “Tay.” Hector loved to travel and enjoyed taking his children to the ocean. He also loved working on his cars. He was most proud of his children and their accomplishments and the lives they have made for themselves. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Hector will be held Monday, December 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. A vigil will occur Monday, December 26, 2022 at 6:00 PM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, 12200 Vista Del Sol Drive, El Paso, Texas 79936. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
