With profound love and sadness, we announce the passing of Hector Castro, age 93, who peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of his family.
Hector was born in 1933 to his beloved parents, Juan Castro and Baldomera Martinez Castro, who preceded him in death. He was one of nine siblings and cherished the close bonds he shared with his family throughout his life. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters who will forever treasure his memory.
For seventy beautiful years, Hector shared a devoted and loving marriage with the love of his life, Elida Zarate Castro. Together they built a family founded on faith, love, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. Their marriage stood as an example of true devotion and enduring partnership.
Hector was a proud and loving father to his four children: Hector Castro Jr. and wife Martha, Maryjane Castro, widow of David, Raul Castro and wife Norma, and Sandra Castro and husband Danny. His greatest joy came from watching his family grow through the generations. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by his wisdom, kindness, and unconditional love.
A hardworking man with a heart of gold, Hector was known for his integrity, humility, and dedication to those he loved. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—tending to his yard, listening to the timeless sounds of Big Band music, especially the music of Glenn Miller, and ending each evening with a cup of coffee and a favorite snack.
To his grandchildren, he was more than a grandfather; he was a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring heart made everyone feel welcomed and valued. He taught by example, showing what it meant to work hard, love deeply, and treat others with kindness and respect.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the countless memories he leaves behind and the legacy of love he built throughout his 93 years. His presence enriched the lives of all who knew him, and his influence will continue to live on through the generations that follow.
Hector will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his love remains with us always and that his legacy will continue to guide us. May he rest in eternal peace.
“A life well lived leaves a legacy of love that never fades.”
