Hector Cuellar, 60, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on March 18, 2026. Born and raised in El Paso, Hector graduated from Bowie High School in 1984. Shortly after, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1985.
That same year, on August 31, 1985, Hector married his high school sweetheart, Maria Mercedes Lara. Together, they built a life grounded in love, dedication, and family.
Hector served his country honorably for 22 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant in May 2007. His commitment to service continued as a civilian at Holloman Air Force Base, where he worked for an additional 15 years before retiring in March 2024.
Outside of his career, Hector found joy in working on cars, taking walks with his beloved dog, Bubba Blue, and, most of all, spending time with his grandsons, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria; his children, Monica, Joshua, and Elizabeth; and his five grandsons, Joel, Jeremiah, Lazarus, Abel, and James.
Hector will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
