Helene Christel Kennedy, born Helene Eiermann, passed away peacefully at the age of 100. She was born on May 16, 1925, in Karlsruhe, Baden Baden, Germany, and carried her heritage with pride throughout her life.
As a young woman in Germany, Helene worked in a local shop. One day Billy G. Kennedy walked in, spotted her, and immediately set his sights on getting to know her. That moment sparked the beginning of their story. They married in Karlsruhe on March 15, 1955, and built a partnership rooted in loyalty, effort, and shared adventures. She was preceded in death by Billy and by her son, Michael Kennedy.
Helene built a long and meaningful life in El Paso, where she was an active member of the German Wives Club for over 60 years. She and Billy also owned several businesses over the years all around the city.
From childhood into adulthood, Helene loved swimming and riding her bicycle. Staying active brought her joy, and she carried that spirit throughout her life. She was also an accomplished baker, known for her butter cake and fruit tarts, which she shared with friends and neighbors who looked forward to every bite.
Helene was generous with her time and her home. Her German Wives Club gatherings at her house were legendary, remembered for their laughter, hospitality, and the welcoming atmosphere she created. She also hosted celebrations and holiday events that brought her community together. Her kindness reached far beyond social events. She took in people who needed support and helped them in ways that were real and personal. Over the years she welcomed children into her home, offered shelter to those without a place to go, and gave steady guidance to anyone who needed it. She never sought recognition. She simply believed in helping others.
A visitation will be held in her honor at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, located at 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas, 79904. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on December 9, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 p
