

Henry Theodore "Hank" Nesbitt, 85, a resident of El Paso for 47 years, a retired soldier, a civil service employee and a business owner, died July 17, 2017. He was born June 24, 1932 at Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Henry Abraham and Mabel Beatrice Dubuc Nesbitt and attended schools in the Blackstone Valley area, namely Saint Jean Baptiste Grammar School in Pawtucket and Sacred Heart Academy at Central Falls. In 1954 he graduated from Providence College with a degree in Political Science and as a Reserve Officer Training Corps commissioned officer, he entered active Army service at Fort Bliss, Texas as a Second Lieutenant. During his military career, and in addition to several assignments at Fort Bliss and retiring there as Lieutenant Colonel from the United Stated Army Air Defense Board in 1974, he served tours of duty at Fort Lewis, Washington and Japan, the Conal Zone, Turkey and Vietnam. In 1958, he married the love of his life Norrice. Hank and Norrice are the parents of three children: Henry L. " Hank" Nesbitt who preceded him in death in 1988 and Heather R. Nesbitt who preceded him in death in 1987; Rebecca A. "Becky" Barron (spouse David W.) of Kingwood Texas; and Scott C. Nesbitt (spouse Mona Mack Nesbitt) of Lubbock, Texas. His grandchildren are Major Henry R. Nesbitt (USMC) (spouse Ashley R. Nesbitt), L Cpl Jacob D. Barron (USMC Reserves), Bayleigh A. Barron, Danielle H. Barron, Rikki L. Mack and Tucker C. Mack. He is further survived by his extend family, Kimberlee S. Gaenzle Nesbitt Bush and William David "Dave" Bush and sons Robert E. Bush (Spouse Marlena), David C. Bush (spouse Jessica) and Ryan C. Bush, and numerous great grandchildren. Henry T. was preceded in death by his only brother Paul F. Nesbitt and Paul's wife Carmelita P. Mulligan Nesbitt. Henry T. was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans; the MOAA; member of the El Paso Chapter of the MOAA; member of the International Coin Club of El Paso; member of the American Vecturist Association. He was an avid collector of things that interested him. He was a "Grandpa" who will be missed by family, neighbors and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00pm, Thursday, July 20, 2017 with a Vigil at 7:00pm at F.D.A.
