Hipolito Maese Ortega passed away at the age of 93 on February 25, 2016. Born in Sierra Blanca, Texas, August 13, 1922 he served proudly in the 69th infantry division during the European Company of WWII. He returned to El Paso & became a heavy machinery inspector at Fort Bliss until his Retirement. He was a proud member of the Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his wife Concepcion G. Ortega. He is survived by his daughters, Blanca Irene Padilla (Miguel A. Padilla), Laura Ortega, Yolanda Ortega, & son Robert Ortega (Jackie) as well as 6 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 5-9pm with the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30am, Friday, March 4 at Santa Lucia Catholic Church on 518 Gallagher St., followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
