

Hollis Edwin Brown born, January 4, 1916, Enloe, Texas, to Mollie Sue Milam Brown and Mc Kindred (M.K.) Brown, peacefully passed from this life to his promised life with the Lord, Saturday, September 24. He moved with his family to Alpine, Texas in 1930 and lived there until 1958 when he moved to El Paso, where he worked for Peyton Packing Company for more than forty years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. In El Paso he attended Eastwood Church of Christ until he moved to White Acres Retirement Community eleven years ago, when he became a member of Westside Church of Christ. He was devoted to his family, and was a man of true grace, grit and optimism. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Ernestine “Sparky” Brown. He is survived by his sister Maxine Stockslager son, Joel Brown and wife, Merry, his daughter, Betty and her husband Bill Harrison, as well as five granddaughters, Marnie Cranmer, Kristen Brown, Sadie Harrison-Fincher and husband, Allyn, Katherine Harrison-Rogers and husband, Merek, and Martha H. Paterson and husband, Tom, also six great-grandchildren: Jessica Cranmer, Macallan “Mac” Cranmer, Hollis Fincher, Harrison Fincher, Arden Rogers, and Will Paterson. His family deeply appreciates the care given by his physician Branch Craige and the kind people of White Acres Good Samaritan Community. We are especially grateful to his devoted caregivers who enriched his life, Suki Aroz, Paty Mora, and Maria Burke. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens of The Valley, with Pastor Bryan Howard officiating.
