

IRENE GARDUÑO DORANTES, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 80 in El Paso, TX. She was born on October 20, 1933 in Mexico City, Mexico. She was a loving wife, giving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted Catholic. She was a gift from God who never stopped sacrificing herself for the benefit of her children. Our lives are dismal without her, but heaven is blissful with her there. She will be deeply missed, though her legacy will live on through all of those that she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ceferino Dorantes, and her parents, Manuel Garduño and Constanza Valera de Garduño.
She is survived by her five children, Patricia G. Rodriguez (Hector), Irma Gonzalez (Salvador), Ricardo G. Dorantes (Kathy), Eduardo Dorantes (Raquel) and Vannessa S. Mata (Julian); her grandchildren, Monica, Kelsey, Eddie Jr., Hector, Lindsey, Diana, and Edgar; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alani, Alexander, and Lily, which she greatly loved; She was also loved by many nephews, nieces, and great- nephews and great-nieces.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with Rosary at 8:00 PM officiated by Deacon Jim Szostek at Martin Funeral Home West. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Msgr. Arturo Bañuelas officiating and Interment following at Mount Carmel Cemetery, officiated by Sacristan Ruben Calderon. Pallbearers are Julian Mata Jr., Paul Mata, Julian C. Mata Sr., Hector C. Rodriguez, Hector H. Rodriguez and Jose Hernandez.
