Irma Villa Franco

We say goodbye to our dearest wife, a mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. Irma loved children. She and her husband Ruben had children who she is with in heaven. She and her husband Ruben also sponsored children from World Vision. One of their sponsor kids, Umaru, had recently passed away. She is with him as well. She helped raise her nephews Adrian, Armando, and Alex. She and Ruben were godparents to their nephew Nehemiah. Irma also had a spiritual son, Aaron, whom she mentored as a cook. Irma always talked about opening an orphanage and feeding children. Irma loved dogs and had many through the years. She made food for them as well. Many of her pets are in heaven enjoying her cooking.

Irma graduated from Ysleta High School in 1976. Irma played violin and marimba for several years. Irma was a member of the drum corps at Ysleta High School and traveled with the Ysleta marching band throughout her high school years. Irma was gifted in playing instruments. Irma attended Community College in LA for several semesters and pursued counseling. Irma liked calling and texting all her family members on both sides and wanted to stay connected.

Irma worked at a Baptist Church taking care of kids at a daycare. She worked at the El Paso courthouse for a couple of years. She worked at Luby’s cafeteria for several years. Irma worked for the Ysleta School District for about 25 years at the school cafeteria as a cook and manager. Some of the schools she worked for were Bel Air High School and Parkland Elementary. She retired, then went to work at Fort Bliss, fed many soldiers for a couple of years, and also worked at Food City making tamales. Irma, because of her illness, decided to stay home after COVID and make food for her husband, Ruben, and her entire family. Irma loved to cook for everyone. She made tamales every year and handed them out to everyone and mailed them even to DFW.

Irma always had a heart for children and hospitality. Irma also loved traveling and wanted to do more traveling. Her dream trips were Ireland and Israel. Irma’s name means whole and complete. She is now whole and complete, and healed in heaven.
